The mountains were silent. The camps were starving. And someone had to go back.
On May 15th, Friar Tuck's Historical Series continues with Donner Relief Expedition, the next presentation in the Expedition Series exploring the stories and survival journeys that shaped the American West.
This evening follows the rescuers who answered the Forlorn Hope's plea, forcing their way through deep Sierra snow to reach the trapped Donner camps in one of the most difficult and haunting rescue missions in California history.
Presented by Bob Crowley, Hal Hall, and Tim Twietmeyer, the evening brings together storytelling, historical insight, and the human realities behind one of the Sierra Nevada's most enduring legends.
Join us for cocktails, light bites, and stories from the trails that helped shape the West.
