Tonight Sat. Sept 15, on the stage Dream and the Dreamer. What is it with these guys, people end up dancing on the sidewalk! Great 60′s & 70′s harmonies…

and fun Fresh from Hawaii tonight, Monchong, a thick white firm filet, sweet and tender, very mild…and

Lamb Loin Chops from New Zeland, grilled with a sauce of raspberries and blueberries. New on the board, also from down under…New Harbor Sauvignon Blanc by the glass or bottle. Grapefruit and melon, crisp and inviting…great for this continued hot weather.

And we closed this past Monday and Tuesday and put it beautiful new carpeting throughout. Looks great! Join us.

Aug. 23…Coral Cod from Hawaii arrived today. Thick line caught thick white filets in a lite tomato butter sauce with scallops and shrimp. Also french cut Chicken Breasts roasted crispy with an heirloom canteloupe sauce (sweet and sour version).

On the stage Friday and Saturday, Kelly Fleming and friends with John Girton Sunday night. Dave and Alice singing 60′s favorites on Monday.

The restaurant air remains cool and clear of smoke since it is filtered and chilled. Come join us.

Aug 17. Heading into another hot weekend. Thanks for the great air conditioning we are always ‘cool’. Come in and cool off. Joining the stage this weekend, from Tahoe ‘Bias and Dunn’. they were a huge hit last time they were here…dancing on the sidewalk. And on Saturday, Kelly Fleming and friends always light up the night.

In today, fresh Opah from Hawaii, a light white thick filet. Also, New Zealand lamb chops. Big film festival this weekend. We welcome all the filmakers and filmgoers.

Dream and the Dreamer are back on the stage tonight. Last time they played, they did five encores and people were dancing in the street. They do great harmonies of your favorite songs.

Also new tonight is a light Crab Salad with Tasmanian Deep Sea Crab we get from the Honolulu Seafood Co. Pretty yummy ($20)

Today Friar Tuck’s received the “Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator Magazine…very cool! Only us and three restaurants in the Tahoe area got this award in our region.

Bias & Dun from Tahoe Friday (7/20), Dream and the Dreamer Saturday(7/21)…both of these groups have been big hits with lots of 60′s harmonies and favorites.

4th of July week

Looks like a week of fun with the 4th falling on Wednesday. New from Hawaii, fresh Ono. For folks who are shy on fish, this fish is for you with a steak like texture and extremely mild, lightly grilled with a mild salsa and deep sea crab on top.

Loraine Gervais sings on our stage with Steve Wall on guitar this Friday, Tom MacDonald on Saturday. Expect mild weather and don’t forget we are always closed on the 4th of July. Greg and Rona got married on the 4th (30th aniversary this year)

Monchong has arrived from Hawaii, the sweetest and mildest tropical fish that’s hard to get. People who don’t like fish, love Monchong. And…Pork Medallions (John are you listening) pork filets, thick cut, coated with panko and pistachio nuts sauteed with a mango sauce. This weekend, Dream and the Dreamer will make you crazy again on Friday, and George Souza has booked a new guy for Saturday that he says you will love. Save a night during the cool Memorial weekend for your visit to Friar Tuck’s otherwise you will be sad on Tuesday. We will have all the great food, fun, and frolic and you will miss out.
